Pedestrian Killed In Miami Beach Along Alton Road

MIAMI BEACH, FL -- A pedestrian was killed early Friday morning along Alton Road after being struck by a vehicle, according to Miami Beach police.

Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department said the incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. at 15 Street and Alton Road.

Rodriguez told Patch that police were still withholding the victim's name as of early Friday afternoon pending the notification of next of kin

The driver of the vehicle was traveling south along Alton Road at the time of the incident. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, Rodriguez added.

Traffic was disrupted for a time between 14 and 15 Streets on Alton Road.
