Phony Cops Sought In Miami Lakes Home Invasion
Miami-Dade police are asking for the public's help in finding two phony cops who committed a home invasion robbery in Miami Lakes.

MIAMI LAKES, FL -- Miami-Dade police are asking for the public's help in finding two phony cops who committed a home invasion robbery on Jan. 30. The incident happened around noon in the 15000 block of NW 87 Court when the two men pulled up in a Chevrolet Silverado.
"The owner was not at home; however, the house was occupied by the two victims, who were visiting," said Detective Angel Rodriguez of the Miami-Dade Police Department.
The visitors in the home were identified as 36-year-old Gustavo Hernandez and 57-year-old Milenis Landazury. The incident was captured on multiple surveillance cameras.

"The subjects knocked on the front door and when Mr. Hernandez opened it, he noticed one of the subjects was wearing a bulletproof vest with the letters 'FBI,' according to Rodriguez. "Both victims were taken to the bathroom and told to stay inside."
Rodriguez said the victims emerged from the bathroom a short time later and saw that both men had fled.

"The subjects drove off with duffel bags containing approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry and sports memorabilia," Rodriguez explained. "The victims were not injured."
