1. An "Adopt A Homeless" resolution is on the agenda at the next Miami Commission meeting, a proposal from Commissioner Joe Carollo. The saying is usually used to criticize homeless housing activists and they are outraged saying Carollo is being "cruel and offensive" and "distracting from a serious problem." (CBS Miami)

2. Miami Police Captain Javier Ortiz, who previously faced controversy over claims he was African American, is now a subject of new litigation. One lawsuit from Miami Police Sergeant Edwin Gomez claims retaliation by the city and Ortiz over a federal investigation into alleged racist and discriminatory behavior by Ortiz. The other lawsuit is from a couple suing Ortiz for false arrest and battery they allege occurred during a traffic stop in 2017. (NBC Miami)

3. The Mexican owner of 32 aquatic parks has won the Miami Seaquarium lease from Miami-Dade County. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava says the deal is a chance for "greater accountability oversight and scrutiny of this facility.” (Miami Today)

4. Miami police told a local news station that a 15-year-old teenager broke into a family's home and stole several cars and their French bulldog. The family told police they were sleeping in the home during the intrusion. (Miami Patch)

5. Nightlife fight: Dozens of protesters showed up at a Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber's conference chanting and holding signs to “vote no on 2 a.m. ban.” Protesters say they are trying to save jobs and stop crime. (WSVN)
