MIAMI BEACH, FL -- A trio of armed carjackers managed to elude police early Tuesday morning after stealing a white BMW convertible at gunpoint from a couple who were stopped in a Miami Beach Walgreens parking lot with their top down.
Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department said the incident happened around 4:17 a.m. at the Walgreens located at 6700 Collins Avenue in North Beach.
"The male and female victims were sitting in a white convertible BMW with the hardtop down when three armed black male subjects approached," said Rodriguez. "They demanded the male passenger out of the vehicle while also pointing a firearm at the female driver and ordering her out of the vehicle. The male passenger was punched by a subject."
