If you're going on a first date for Valentine's Day, safety experts suggest that you do a simple Google search before meeting your date, use a Google Voice number instead of your own, schedule a video chat prior to the date and drive yourself or take public transportation, according to website Safety.com.
It's also a good idea to pack pepper spray, meet in a public place, stay sober and make sure you tell a friend where you will be going and what time you expect to be home.

The Citadel
