2 Sought By Police In Palm Beach Mall Shooting That Injured 1

Authorities said they are searching for two people of interest in connection with The Gardens Mall shooting that injured one person.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL — Authorities are searching for two people of interest in a targeted mall shooting that injured a person, the Florida Highway Patrol said Thursday.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the west area of The Gardens Mall, which was subsequently placed on lockdown. The FHP said the person's injury was non-threatening.

Authorities are seeking information that will identify two Black males, ages unknown, who they consider persons of interest.

One of the males wore a purple hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, while the second male wore blue jeans and a green long-sleeve shirt with a multicolored design on the front, the FHP said.

The shooting was targeted - not a random act or an active shooter incident, the FHP said. A motive is unknown.

The mall and surrounding businesses remain open, the FHP said.
