5 Missing, 1 Dead After Boat Capsizes Off FL Coast, Officials Say

MARTIN COUNTY, FL — The search continues for five people who are missing after their boat capsized near St. Lucie Inlet on Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard posted to X, formerly Twitter.

One body was recovered from the waters on Sunday just before 10 a.m., Martin County Fire Rescue posted to X.

Four people were also rescued by Coast Guard crews.

“A good Samaritan” reported the incident, USCG said.

All four people rescued were flown by helicopter to the Stuart Airport, where they were met by fire rescue crews and brought them to a local hospital for evaluations.
