No Active Shooter After Fort Lauderdale Officer Shot: Police

A Fort Lauderdale police officer was in stable condition Thursday after being shot during a standoff at a hotel, media reports say.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — A Fort Lauderdale officer was shot Thursday in the 1500 block of Southeast 17th Street, police tweeted.

Police did not say what led to the shooting, but noted the officer's injuries were non-threatening.

There is no active shooter, and the suspect was "accounted for," police said. No further details were released by police.

The Daily Mail reported the shooting happened during a standoff at a hotel. Nearby roads had been closed.

Both NBC6 and Local 10 reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. a large police presence in the area, with NBC6 reporting the officer was in stable condition.
