FL Trooper Killed In Crash During Police Chase In St. Lucie
A crash killing a Florida trooper in the line of duty happened Friday on Interstate 95 in St. Lucie County.

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL — A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was killed while chasing a suspect Friday in St. Lucie County, Gov. Ron DeSantis said on Facebook.
DeSantis identified the trooper as Zachary Fink, who the governor said "was killed in the line of duty while attempting to detain a fleeing felon."
"Casey DeSantis and I are praying for the Fink family and the entire FHP community," he said in the post.

Fink was hit and killed after crashing with a semi-truck on Interstate 95 near Crosstown Parkway, per News Channel 8.
The St. Lucie Sheriff's Office said on Facebook the FHP was investigating an I-95 crash early Friday morning, causing the interstate to close in both directions from Gatling Boulevard to Okeechobee Road. Drivers were asked to use alternative routes.

Then, in a later post, the sheriff's office offered condolences following the news of Fink's death.
"On behalf of Sheriff Keith Pearson and the men and women of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of FHP Trooper Zachary Fink, who died in the line of duty after a crash on I-95 early this morning," the post.
News Channel 8 reported at least one man was being detained in connection with the FHP probe. It is unknown if anyone is facing charges.
