FL Woman Who Threatened To Shoot FBI Agents Sentenced: U.S. DOJ

A FL woman who said she attended the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach sentenced to prison for threatening to shoot FBI agents in videos: US DOJ

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — A Palm Beach County woman who threatened threatening to shoot FBI agents in videos she posted on social media was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

A jury in West Palm Beach found Suzanne Kaye, 61, guilty in June 2022, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

The FBI received a tip on Jan. 16 that Kaye posted to her Facebook page, “Angry Patriot Hippie,” that she participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol building breach, Patch previously reported.

When agents called her Jan. 28, 2021, to interview her about traveling to Washington, D.C. the day of the riot, Kaye asked if they had proof that she had been there and denied making the trip, the DOJ said.

She told the agents that she knew of others who had been there, though. She also agreed to speak with the FBI and provided her address.

Several days later, on Jan. 31, 2021, before the interviews took place, Kaye posted three profanity-laden videos online.

On video, she said that she would “shoot their (expletive expletive)” if FBI agents showed up at her house, the DOJ said.

She started another video by saying, “Friends, I’m here to let you know I need a drink,” before swigging from a bottle of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire, a cinnamon-flavored whiskey, throughout her rant, Patch previously reported.

In the video, Kaye shares with viewers that she recently received a call from the FBI regarding her recent visit to Washington, D.C.

“I told them, ‘Bro, I ain’t gonna talk to you unless I have counsel, and being that I can’t afford counsel right now, you’re gonna have to arrest me so I can exercise my rights to counsel,” she said. “’And being that you don’t even know where I live and you have to ask me, I ain’t talking to you either.’”

Kaye added, “I’m an American. I know my (expletive) rights. My First Amendment right to free speech. My Second Amendment right to carry a gun, to shoot your (expletive expletive) if you come to my house. So, (expletive) you. (Expletive) you, following me. I don’t (expletive) care. I’m glad you know who I am, (expletive).”

The videos have since been removed from social media.

The FBI learned about her social media postings on Feb. 8, 2021, when they received a second online tip with one of the videos. Agents arrested Kaye at her home on Feb. 17, 2021.
