GA Gas Prices Continue To Rise, Hit New Record High

As of Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is up to $4.30, according to GasBuddy.

GEORGIA — Gas prices in Georgia have hit a new all-time record high Tuesday, as U.S. gas prices continue to soar.

As of Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is up to $4.30. That beats the last record set in March by 4 cents. Prices are up 16 cents from last week and up 49 cents from last month.

Georgia's record-high average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $4.29, set on March 11, according to the American Automobile Association.

Georgia gas prices still remain one of the states with the least expensive gas. The national average is $4.919, according to AAA.

Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $4.27 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, according to AAA. It now costs motorists $64.05 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline.

The suspension of Georgia gas tax was extended again by Gov. Brian Kemp last month. The measure saves Georgia drivers 29 cents per gallon of gas.

The governor had previously signed a bill in March that paused the gas tax after record-high gas prices in Georgia. It was set to expire on May 31. In the new executive order, Kemp extended the tax suspension through July 14.
