5 Kilograms Of Meth, Heroin, Guns Seized In South Georgia: GBI
Two men were arrested at a hotel and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and heroin to multiple communities in South Georgia.
GEORGIA — Two Georgia men were arrested over the weekend and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and heroin to multiple communities in South Georgia.
Law enforcement seized five kilograms of methamphetamine, one kilogram of heroin, and a handgun Friday. Jose Luis Pena-Ferraras, age 35 and Ismil Rodriguez-Aybar, age 43, both of Lawrenceville, were arrested. Based on a lengthy investigation, Ferraras and Aybar were identified as supplying methamphetamine and heroin to multiple communities in South Georgia, to include Tifton and Albany, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
Ferraras and Aybar were arrested in the parking lot of a hotel in Tifton, GA, and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and heroin, according to the GBI. Ferraras was also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. A search of their vehicle led to the seizures, GBI said.

Members of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office worked with the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
