Acworth PD Arrest Amber Alert Suspect

The 13-year-old kidnapping victim was also recovered, police said.

On October 24th, 2015 at approximately 1746 hours the Acworth Police Department was contacted by the Ottumwa, Iowa Police Department in reference to an Amber Alert. A description of a yellow Nissan Frontier was given to officers, which was wanted in connection to the Amber Alert.

Officers canvased the area near Walmart (3826 Cobb Pkwy), where the vehicle was said to have been. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle at or near this address. Acworth Police were given updated information on the location of the vehicle and were able to make a traffic stop on the yellow Nissan Frontier which was occupied by a Hispanic male and white female.

The male driver was identified as Kevin Ariel Toala Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez was wanted by the Ottumwa Police Department for the kidnapping of a 13-year-old female. Ramirez drove from Florida to Iowa to meet the 13-year-old female. The female passenger was identified as the missing juvenile victim out of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Ramirez was taken into custody and a fugitive warrant was obtained. Thanks to the perseverance of the Acworth Police department the juvenile female is out of harm’s way and in the care of the regional YDC (Youth Detention Center).
