Commissioners Discuss Specifics of Furlough Days
The designated days up for a vote are May 27, June 17, July 1, Aug. 5 and Sept. 1. They all fall in different pay periods.

Specific furlough days for Cobb County employees could be set Tuesday night at the commissioners meeting.
Earlier this month, in an effort to make up a $27.1 million shortfall in the 2011 budget, the commissioners decided to use reserve money, furlough days and other measures to get through the remainder of the fiscal year ending in September.
A resolution has been drawn up for approval tonight. The designated days in that are May 27, June 17, July 1, Aug. 5 and Sept. 1. They all fall in different pay periods.

County Manager David Hankerson will come up with procedures for the departments that can’t cease operations on those days.
It has been previously discussed that furlough days for fire and police staff could be juggled to keep all areas covered.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the commissioners' board room, 100 Cherokee St., Marietta. See the attached full agenda.
