Walking Club To Start at Acworth's Hubert Park

YMCAs in Cobb are partnering with the county's parks and rec department to offer free clubs held Monday through Friday at local parks with soccer complexes.

The YMCAs in Cobb County are partnering with the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department to start free walking clubs at local parks with soccer complexes, including one in Acworth.

The goal is to keep parents engaged while their kids attend soccer practice, according to the press release. These walking clubs are part of 2020 healthy living strategic plans for the Y and Cobb County.

The walking clubs will be held Monday through Friday, 6 to 9 p.m., and are open to everyone. The clubs will focus on the time spent walking rather than distance or speed, so people of all fitness levels are encouraged to participate. Research shows social support is one way exercise can become a regular, healthy habit.
