BURKE COUNTY, GA — Five University of Georgia students are being hailed as heroes after authorities say they rescued a driver and two children from a partially submerged vehicle.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office said Friday the "amazing students" saw a white SUV leave the roadway and roll into an Ellison Bridge Road creek.
Jumping into action, authorities said the students immediately turned around to head to the crash. They did not hesitate to jump into the water and pull the driver and two children from the vehicle, authorities said.
