Gunman Kills Ex-Girlfriend, Man In Apparent Athens Murder-Suicide: PD
When a dispute ended in gunfire, police said a man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and a man before fatally turning the gun on himself.
ATHENS — A shooting killed three people in what Athens-Clarke County Police said Monday was an apparent murder-suicide in the 100 block of Massey Lane.
Officers responded around 11 p.m. Friday to an aggravated assault at a Massey home, where police said a domestic dispute escalated to gunfire.
Police said Juliana Navarnete-Moreno, 26, and Hugo Martinez-Cerritos, 20, both of Athens, arrived at the home in a 2013 Toyota Camry.

Mangell Maivena, the 31-year-old Athens ex-boyfriend of Navarnete-Moreno, approached the vehicle and a domestic dispute took place, police said. Gunfire erupted, and police said Maivena shot Navarnete-Moreno and Martinez-Cerritos before fatally turning the gun on himself.
Police said Navarnete-Morena was pronounced dead at the scene, and Martinez-Cerritos was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Martinez-Cerritos died of his injuries Sunday, police said.
