Largest Verizon franchisor announces leadership change at Athens store

Athens, GA (Apr. 12, 2022) – Wireless Zone®, the nation’s largest Verizon franchisor, announces that franchise owners Rick and Kelly Gdovic have acquired the Athens, GA, retail store location at 1998 W. Broad St., Suite A. Along with this transaction, the Gdovics have also acquired seven other store locations across Georgia, creating Wireless Zone’s first stores in The Peach State.

Effective April 1, Rick and Kelly Gdovic took over ownership of the Athens store from former operating group, Wireless One Management. The two business leaders have experienced rapid growth in the franchise portfolio over the past 12 months, now owning and operating 51 Wireless Zone stores across eight U.S. states.

“The opportunity to enter the Athens community through Wireless Zone was something we simply could not say no to,” said Kelly Gdovic. “Myself, Rick and our team are excited to serve our customers across the area, and we cannot wait to invest into this community who has properly welcomed and supported our entrance to their area.”

To keep up with growing demand for wireless devices and accessories, this Wireless Zone store location will have a significantly higher inventory of items, and will be hiring additional staff to properly serve customers across the community.
