Tell us about your business and its history in your town.

I am Kim Hawkins, the President of EventsWholesale, an online discount event and wedding planning supply company based in Watkinsville, Georgia, and in business since 2006. We specialize in wedding centerpieces and have a huge offering of tablecloths, vases, candles, event props and more at budget-friendly prices.

Our customer base includes event planners, wedding planners, corporate event coordinators, caterers, the hospitality industry, event venues and large corporations. Our products are also available to the public.

How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?

We are entering what is normally our busy season. Unfortunately, with events across the US being cancelled, our sales have slowed. However, a few customers are still planning future events and weddings. I expect this to affect us for at least the next two to three months, but it will likely take a year to fully recover. We are taking this downtime as an opportunity to update our products and add new products for the future.

We hope our customers will start planning future events and keep us in mind for needed supplies!

Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?

Life will resume soon, and we will be planning “coming out of quarantine” parties in the near future!
