• UGA celebrates fall 2025 undergraduate commencement (redandblack.com) — Thousands of students and families packed UGA’s Stegeman Coliseum in Athens as more than 3,200 graduates received their fall 2025 degrees. Speakers, including President Jere Morehead and former Coca-Cola CEO Douglas Ivester, urged new alumni to carry their UGA education into service, leadership, and lifelong learning while celebrating years of work in Athens classrooms and labs.
   

• Traces and Triumphs: One scholar's mission to map Athens' forgotten queer histories (redandblack.com) — A University of Georgia Ph.D. candidate is building an archive to preserve Athens’ early LGBTQ+ histories, especially stories from before 1980 that risk being lost. Working with Athens Pride & Queer Collective and local elders, he’s mapping sites, recording oral histories, and highlighting contributions of Black, Brown, trans, immigrant, and disabled queer Athenians to the city’s culture and identity.
