• UGA celebrates fall 2025 undergraduate and graduate commencements (redandblack.com) — Thousands of University of Georgia students just graduated at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, marking the fall 2025 commencement for more than 3,200 undergraduates and graduates. Local families packed the arena as UGA President Jere Morehead and keynote speaker Douglas Ivester urged new alumni to pursue lifelong learning, service, and leadership rooted in the values they developed in Athens.
   

• 2 freshman UGA football players arrested for shoplifting (wsbtv.com) — Two UGA freshman football players were arrested Friday evening in Athens on misdemeanor shoplifting charges and quickly released on bond, according to Athens-Clarke County jail records. The university says it’s gathering information and isn’t commenting further yet, leaving questions about what happened and any potential impact on the team after its SEC Championship win.
