Teen Charged With Murder In Fatal Athens Shooting

A 20-year-old man was killed Monday in a Rolling Ridge Drive shooting, police say.

ATHENS, GA — A 16-year-old is facing murder charges in connection with a Memorial Day shooting that killed a 20-year-old man, Athens-Clarke County Police said Tuesday.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Rolling Ridge Drive, police said.

Police said Cameron Manago, who was found at the scene with a gunshot wound, was taken to a local hospital and was then pronounced dead.

Authorities have charged Zyquavious Thomas, of Athens, on suspicion of felony murder, attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault in connection with Manago's death, police said.

Police added Thomas is being charged as an adult. The investigation is ongoing.
