CASA Holds Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show
On March 22, Georgia CASA raised $65K to support affiliate CASA programs in Georgia at the Luncheon & Fashion Show.
From Georgia CASA: Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), the state organization that supports and promotes advocates for abused and neglected children, held its thirteenth annual Luncheon & Fashion Show on March 22. The event raised more than $65,000 to support affiliate CASA programs in 48 of the 49 judicial circuits in Georgia that serve 146 counties across the state. Since Georgia CASA’s founding in 1988, nearly 30,000 CASA volunteers have received training to become effective advocates for 130,000 abused and neglected children in Georgia.
This year’s event, held at a private club in Buckhead, honored Marie Hannon, a tireless supporter of Georgia CASA, who has done tremendous work in the community on behalf the organization as a board member and tireless volunteer. The Fashion Show, emceed by WXIA-TV’s Cheryl Preheim, featured women’s fashions from Tootsies. Men’s fashions were from Guffey’s. Models included CASA staff, volunteers and supporters.
This year’s Gold Presenting Sponsor was UPS. “We are thrilled with the results of this year’s Luncheon and Fashion Show,” said Duaine Hathaway, Executive Director of Georgia CASA. “Money raised at the annual Luncheon & Fashion show goes to support the services Georgia CASA provides in Atlanta and to affiliates throughout the state through trained volunteers that touch the lives of the children in Georgia’s foster care system.”
