  2. Two men from two separate teen murder cases were arrested in a Mechanicsville apartment complex. One man, Jabari Dixon, was involved with a shooting that took place in January, which involved a 15 year old boy who passed away. The other man, Roddrick Teasley, was involved with a more recent shooting that killed a 17 year old boy on Jun. 2nd. Both men were arrested by Atlanta police, but there is no evidence that the incidents were connected. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  3. On Thursday morning, a massive fire consumed an apartment complex near Campbellton Road, and the case has now been ruled an arson. Firefighters arrived at the building around 9:00 a.m., where it took 15 units to extinguish and take care of the incident. There have not been any reported injuries, nor have the police arrested anyone, as of Thursday evening. The investigation is still ongoing. (CBS 46 News)
  4. Ashley Reyes-Hernandez, a 15-year-old who was involved in an Amber Alert in Florida, was found unharmed in Chamblee, according to officials. It was reported that 19-year-old Oliver Ramos may have been with Reyes-Hernandez, and Florida police had alerted Atlanta stations that the two may be in the area. Chamblee police reportedly found the two in an apartment complex. Ramos was arrested and is now facing charges of statutory rape and interference with custody. (WSB Atlanta)
  5. Last night, the Beloved Benefit concert took place at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The concert featured stars like Chris Tucker and Usher, and aims to benefit the Atlanta community as a whole. The funds from the event go towards different nonprofit organizations and charities that help improve the community's development. Are you an Atlanta resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?

Bloomberg recently asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.

Thinking you can’t afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.

Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here’s why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)
