Man Found Dead In Near-Freezing Temps At 5 MARTA Points Station

Overnight temperatures dropped into the low 30s and wind chills were in the 20s, when the man's body was found.

ATLANTA, GA -- As some of the year's coldest temperatures descended on the metro area, a man was found dead overnight outside downtown Atlanta's Five Points MARTA station. Police said the man's body was found near the corner of Peachtree and Alabama streets around 4:30 am. The man was dead when police arrived.

His identity has not been released, but police said the man appeared to be homeless.

Police said an autopsy is being performed, and they are not sure if near-freezing temperatures played a role in his death.
