  1. Abortion rights supporters took to the streets in Atlanta on the 4th of July yesterday to protest the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade. The rally was led by Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights and began at the Midtown MARTA station and made its way to Peachtree Street during The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race. Once the race finished, the rally grew to about 200 people after migrating to Piedmont Park and stopping again at the corner of 10th Street and Monroe Drive. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. The Atlanta Humane Society has taken in dozens more beagles after they were rescued from an animal testing facility. 27 beagles were rescued from a facility that bred the animals for testing last June. Now, 24 additional beagles are safe from harm. Many of these dogs are puppies. Once all 51 dogs are deemed healthy and safe, they will be put up for adoption on the Atlanta Humane Society's website.
