Tyler Perry To Pay For Funeral Of 8-Year-Old Atlanta Girl
Atlanta media mogul, Tyler Perry, plans to pay for the funeral of Secoriea Turner, 8, who was shot and killed Saturday night.

ATLANTA, GA—Atlanta filmmaker, Tyler Perry, said he plans to pay for the funeral of a little girl shot and killed over the holiday weekend, not far from the location where Rayshard Brooks was killed nearly a month ago.
Secoriea Turner, 8, was shot in the area of University Ave and I-75/85 Saturday night while riding in a Jeep Cherokee with her mother and an adult friend, according to police. The SUV eventually a approached a makeshift roadblock manned by several armed people. Police said when the driver attempted to get around the roadblock, shots were fired into the SUV, in turn, striking Turner. She was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center where she died.
In a statement to People magazine, Perry said he was outraged by the incident and said he would have preferred to have paid for Turner's college education rather than her funeral.

"When does this end?" he told the magazine. "It doesn’t matter what color wrong comes in, wrong is wrong."
This isn't the first time Perry has chipped in to help families financially that have suffered a traumatic loss at the hands of violence.

The media mogul previously paid for the medical expenses for Matt Cooper, an officer with the Covington Police Department who was shot in the head while trying to stop a shoplifter at a Walmart in 2018.
He also covered the funerals arrangements of Rayshard Brooks as well and plans to pay for the college tuition of Brooks' children. Perry's film studio is located just a few miles from where Brooks was shot and killed last month.
