🌱 Walmart Shooting Victims Speak out + Iconic Sno-Cap Drive In Grant

  1. Witnesses are sharing their accounts following a shooting at a Walmart in nearby Aiken that left a 13-year-old girl injured. Ashton Rickard's family provided updates on her condition on Facebook, mentioning her undergoing multiple surgeries after the incident. Christopher Foreman, the suspect, has been arrested and denied bond. Witness testimonies describe the terrifying moments during the shooting, with one couple recalling how they escaped while pushing the woman to safety and running with Ashton. (WRDW)
  2. North Augusta's iconic Sno-Cap Drive-In has been granted $40,000 through the Backing Historic Small Restaurants grant, sponsored by American Express. Among 25 businesses nationwide, the Sno-Cap Drive-In, serving customers since 1964, was the exclusive recipient of the grant in South Carolina. Half of the grant will be dedicated to covering operational costs, while the rest will be utilized for historical preservation, including renovating the patio and the iconic West Avenue sign. With the grant program having already supported over 100 restaurants, the owners of Sno-Cap eagerly anticipate the positive impact they will continue to make within the community.   3. Seven Augusta men have been indicted and charged with Federal Weapons Charges. Several of the men have been sentenced and several are still awaiting sentencing. The ongoing investigations involve multiple agencies, including the ATF, FBI, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Savannah Police Department, Richmond County Sheriff's Office, and Georgia State Patrol.
