- The dangerous Olive Street Bridge stands as a glaring omission among the projects receiving federal grants from the Biden Administration. Even with the locals advancing 20 percent of the costs, the federal grants designated to repair railroad bridges will not be awarded to this project in 2023 or over the next 5 years. This low-hanging bridge is extremely dangerous, very hard to fix, and could cost millions. (WRDW)
- Demondre Mahoney, a deputy from Richmond County, was apprehended for the act of introducing contraband into the facility. Following allegations against him, an investigation was initiated on Sunday, leading to his arrest. He now faces charges of providing convicts with unauthorized articles and violating his oath as a public officer. Mahoney started his career as a deputy in 2021. (The Augusta Chronicle)
- The "Augusta on Display" meet and greet was praised for bringing together citizens and government officials. Mayor Garnett Johnson, Interim Administrator Takiya Douse, and Commissioner Jordan Johnson were all in attendance. (The Augusta Press)
