- An Augusta woman, Laura Elese Taylor, is being sought by authorities for allegedly stabbing her older male roommate multiple times during an argument over a missing wallet. The incident took place at their shared residence on Prague Court, resulting in the victim suffering deep cuts to his stomach, chest, arm, and ear. Laura Taylor is wanted for aggravated assault and exploitation of an elderly or disabled person, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. - Alexander Lee Collier, an Augusta man, is wanted for shooting his live-in girlfriend in the arm during an argument at East Augusta Commons. The incident occurred after Collier became upset that the victim was talking to another man. He allegedly shoved and punched her before retrieving a gun from a bedroom and shooting her. Collier is wanted for aggravated assault, weapon possession, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. - Hope for Hooves Rescue in North Augusta, led by cancer survivor Michelle Derrick, offers animal therapy and education to children and individuals in need of emotional healing. The 10-acre property houses horses, donkeys, and other animals, providing a safe space for visitors to learn and connect with the animals. The rescue's mentorship program has shown remarkable results, helping children with autism and those who have experienced abuse or trauma to find therapeutic solace through interacting with the animals.
