Chief Thomas Culpepper is pleased to announce the following recent accomplishments by officers of the Cartersville Police Department:
Patrolman First Class Kirk Henderson and Patrolman First Class Donna Kelley have obtained their Advanced Peace Officer Certification. Obtaining this certification requires taking seven required advanced law enforcement training courses at the police academy as well as a minimum of 12 semester hours of college courses.
Investigator David Bojczuk has obtained his Supervisory Certification. To obtain this certification an officer must attend 120 hours of supervisor training, have at least 30 semester hours of college, and must serve or have served in some type of supervisory capacity.

Officer Juan Mesa recently graduated from the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy and is now in the Field Training Program with the Department. Officer Mesa also recently graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
These certifications are bestowed by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council and represent a high degree of professional excellence on the part of the individual and of the agency.
