Car Chase, Vehicular Assault Leads To Jail For Bartow Man: Police
A Cartersville man who tried to run down a woman with his vehicle led police on a car chase before they arrested him, authorities said.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — A Cartersville man is in jail Monday after authorities say he tried to run down a woman with his car.
Cordero Dominic Shaw, 30, was arrested early Friday morning after leading a Georgia State Patrol trooper and Floyd County police on a chase along Alabama Highway and Turner Bend Road, according to The Rome News-Tribune.
The chase followed Shaw’s attempt to assault a woman with his vehicle on Kingston Highway near the Floyd County line, reported the Coosa Valley News. Police said that the victim had previously taken out a protection order against Shaw.

In addition to being charged with aggravated assault and aggravated stalking — both felonies — Shaw received numerous misdemeanor charges related to his driving during the chase. Shaw also was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
As of Monday, Shaw remains in the Floyd County Jail.
