Cartersville Firefighters To Host Virtual Boot Drive In October
Twenty percent of the funds raised through the virtual boot drive will benefit the Cartersville Fire Department.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — Fires and burns have not stopped during the coronavirus pandemic and neither has the Cartersville Fire Department. Beginning Thursday, firefighters will hold a virtual boot drive to support the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
Twenty percent of the funds raised through the virtual boot drive will benefit the Cartersville Fire Department.
"This is a great opportunity for us to boost our fire prevention budget since a large portion of our materials are purchased utilizing boot drive funds. Thank you for your continued support of this very worthy cause," the department said.

The rest of the money raised will benefit GFBF, a non-profit organization started by a group of firefighters in 1990 from metro area fire departments. The funds raised by the GFBF are used to fund three burn camps per year and are free to participants.
Money is also used to support victims and their families at the burn centers in Grady and Augusta.
