Man Reports Armed Robbery At Allatoona Lake

The alleged victim said an unknown man took his hunting rifle at Old Highway 41 #1 day use area in Bartow County.

ACWORTH, GA — A man told a Bartow County sheriff's deputy he was robbed at gunpoint of his hunting rifle at an Allatoona Lake boat ramp.

According to an incident report released by the sheriff's office, the 21-year-old said someone stole his rifle after he completed a hunt at the Old Highway 41 #1 day use area at 6679 North Main Street in unincorporated Acworth.

The alleged victim said he was packing up his truck on Dec. 30 after hunting in the area. At around 9 a.m., "someone held the barrel of a gun to the back of his neck and demanded the gun case bag with his shotgun inside," the incident report adds.

The resident, who actually made the armed robbery report on Tuesday, Jan. 1, said the unknown subject was a black male who weighed about 200 pounds, had brown eyes and was wearing a gray hoodie. No other description of physical features was provided by the alleged victim in the report.
