Police: Man Tried to Rob Dollar Tree

have arrested a man they say tried to rob this morning about 10:32 a.m.

Officers dispatched to the store on East Main Street found that the suspect, who did not have a weapon, fled the scene, unsuccessful in the alleged attempt.

After receiving a description of the suspect, officers found him across the street at . Thirteen minutes after officers were dispatched, they arrested Calvin Fletcher Kent, 51, of Cartersville. 

"I have not seen the report yet as the officer still has to write it," said Lt. Mark Camp, division commander and public affairs officer. "From what I was told he told them he was there to rob them."

Kent is charged with criminal attempt to commit robbery and booked into the .
