Rep. Loudermilk Sworn Into 116th Congress
U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk began his third two-year term representing Georgia's 11th Congressional District.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk on Thursday began his third term representing residents living in Georgia's 11th Congressional District. Loudermilk, a Republican from Bartow County, was sworn into office for the 116th Congress.
“Today, as I was being sworn in for the 116th Congress, I placed my hand on a Bible like those issued to soldiers during World War II," he said in a statement. "This Bible, similar to the one issued to my father, a WWII veteran, reminds me of the importance of God in my life and in the founding of this great nation."
Loudermilk won re-election to the 11th Congressional District seat in the Nov. 6 midterm elections. The 11th Congressional District includes all of Bartow and Cherokee counties and parts of Cobb and Fulton counties.

"While our country is currently entrenched in a debate over much-needed border security, and a partial government shutdown being the result of this political impasse, we cannot forget the reason we are all here: to ensure we have a nation that is free, safe and full of opportunity," Loudermilk added. "Eventually, this debate will come to an end and new challenges will emerge, but I will continue to stand firmly on my faith and the U.S. Constitution as I represent Georgia’s 11th Congressional District.”
