Woman Lied To Deputies About Home Intruder: Cops
A Bartow County woman called 911 to report a burglary, but later admitted to deputies that the alleged intruder was her boyfriend.

ACWORTH, GA — A Bartow County woman has been charged with making a false report of a crime after she allegedly called 911 to report a man was breaking into her home. Deputies with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a call of a break-in around 7:40 a.m. Jan. 1 to a home on North Main Street in Acworth.
According to a sheriff's office incident report, the resident told dispatchers that someone was knocking on her door and entered her home. She also reported glass had been broken, and that she could hear footsteps throughout the home.
Deputies arrived to find the glass panes on the back door were broken and the point of entry was unlocked. The woman called out from the bedroom, and "was still hiding under her bed when I found her, crying," according to the deputy's report.

A spot of fresh blood was found on the door frame, and blood was also discovered on the broken glass on the floor. When asked if she knew who could have done the damage, the woman said she was clueless. She added she "went out partying" on New Year's Eve and used Uber to return home.

Sheriff's deputies began to learn more about what happened when they began talking to neighbors about the incident. A neighbor said she saw the woman, identified as Sara Rachel Adams, 31, arguing with a man who was inside a white vehicle. The neighbor said Adams ran up her driveway and dashed back into her house as the male drove away, according to the incident report.
The deputy confronted Adams about this information and this time, "she was crying and saying she was sorry she lied to us." Adams said her boyfriend was the man who came to her house, and they had an argument. She called 911 to report an unknown person trying to break into her residence.
"She then hid under her bed until we arrived to put on a show and lied to us for the next half hour or so until we determined she was lying through our own investigation," the deputy said. "It was not until after she was confronted with evidence suggesting she was lying that she finally confessed the truth."
Adams was charged with one count of false report of a crime and booked into the Bartow County Jail. She was released on a $1,500 bond.
