Woman Found Dead Under Bridge Along I-575

The body of woman was discovered early Friday morning under a bridge over Interstate 575, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.

Georgia's first sexually transmitted case of the Zika virus has been confirmed, health officials say.

The Georgia Department of Public Health says a non-pregnant woman was infected by her male partner, who had traveled to Brazil earlier this year and was among the state's confirmed travel-related cases of Zika. The woman who was infected has not traveled outside the country. >>> Read more.

State Troopers Begin Memorial Day Traffic Enforcement

The Memorial Day holiday travel period begins this weekend and signals the beginning of the summer travel season.

With that in mind, you can expect troopers with the Georgia State Patrol to be out in full force, enforcing speed limits, seat belt usage and looking for impaired drivers. “Our goal is to intercept dangerous drivers before they can cause a fatal crash,” said Colonel Mark W.
