Marvin Arrington Jr. Has Impressive Lead, But Headed for a Run-Off for State Representative, District 62
Marvin Arrington beat his opponents in the District 62 State Representative race with a healthy margin, but was unable to get over the 50% majority mark.

Marvin Arrington Jr. may soon be elected the next District 62 State Representative of Georgia. Marvin Arrington beat Kip Carr, LaDawn “LBJ” Jones, and Benny Crane to claim the win in the total number of votes cast, but did not go over 50%. With 100% of the precincts reporting, Marvin Arrington has 48.9% of the vote, and his closer competitor is at 26.9%. If no one wins the majority of votes (50% + 1) there will have to be a run-off election to determine a winner.
Marvin Arrington Jr. is a successful lawyer just like his father, of the same name who was an acclaimed civil rights lawyer and long-time office holder in Atlanta, as well.
Marvin Arrington Jr. was able to stay ahead in a State Representative race that seemed to ebb back and forth, each candidate gaining some traction over the course of the campaign.
In the end, the victory seems to be Mr. Arrington's though he will probably have to win a run-off before he can begin to govern at the Capitol and try to make good on some of his campaign promises.
