Michael Johnson, Running Against John Lewis, Speaks out on Gun Laws Following the Colorado Massacre
Michael Johnson, candidate for the 5th District, says we need stricter Gun Laws.
Michael Johnson, who is running for John Lewis' seat as the 5th District U.S. Congressman, briefly answered a few hot topic questions over the weekend.
We first asked him what he thought needed to change after such a horrible massacre in a Aurora, CO theater. Like President Obama stated last week, Michael Johnson said that "it is very clear that we need to have a discussion about gun control." Johnson went on to say that assault weapons need to be better controlled because, on the streets, they are only "made to kill people."
Our second question has been posed by many who question why Michael Johnson is attempting to run against Civil Rights hero, John Lewis. To that, Mr. Johnson a former Superior Court Judge says that he believes the "time is now." He says that we (the United States voters) made change by electing Pres. Barack Obama, but more change is necessary especially in the U.S. Congress.Â
