Teen Arrested In Death Of Locksmith Found In Burning Van: Police

A 16-year-old suspect is in police custody in connection to the death of a locksmith who was found dead in his burning work van.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A teenager has been arrested and faces charges in connection with the death of a DeKalb County locksmith, who was found dead in his burning work van earlier this month, according to the DeKalb County Police Department.

Peter McGrath, 36, was found dead June 5 on Mecklinburg Place in Decatur near Towers High School. The cause of death has been ruled a homicide. He leaves behind a wife, Amber, and four children. A GoFundMe campaign was launched by Amber, who says he left home for work and never returned.

Police confirmed Friday that the suspect has been identified as a 16-year-old and is in police custody.
