Here are the top five stories today in Douglasville:

  1. A BOLO has been issued by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office to locate two missing teenage sisters, Brooke Shadix (15) and Brytni Shadix (16). They were last seen at home, and details regarding when they left or their attire at the time of disappearance are unclear. Brooke has burgundy and dark brown hair and brown eyes, is five feet six inches tall, and weighs 125 pounds, while Brytni has black hair and brown eyes, is five feet five inches tall, and weighs 120 pounds. Both have nose piercings. Anyone with information on their whereabouts or circumstances of their disappearance is urged to contact authorities at 770-920-4950. (Fox 5 Atlanta)

Recently the City of Douglasville was awarded first place in the medium-sized (100-499 employees) category of Healthiest Employers by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for the third consecutive year. This recognition acknowledges their commitment to employee well-being, with initiatives like the B Fit with D Fit wellness program, offering monthly yoga, mental health professional sessions, and wellness challenges.   3. Douglas County Animal Services (DCAS) has issued a two-week halt on all cat and kitten intakes.   4. Douglasville police Department is searching for a missing man, 37-year-old Joseph Bean who was last seen on Sunday, Sep. 3. Bean's last known location was Emblem Apartments, where witnesses say he was leaving in his 2022 Hyundai Venue with Florida tag #EWKK39.
