Douglas to Fill Backpacks with Food
It is part of an effort to ensure that children on free and reduced lunch will have something to eat on the weekends.

School starts next Wednesday in Douglas, and several organizations need your help each week filling backpacks with food for children on free and reduced lunch so that they will have something to eat on the weekends.
Donations can be dropped off at the information desk at the Douglas County Courthouse and at the circulation desks at three county libraries, according to a post on the Douglas County Happenings Facebook page.
The courthouse is at 8700 Hospital Dr. The libraries are at 7100 Turner Dr., Lithia Springs; 6810 Selman Dr., Douglasville; and 6100 Georgia Hwy. 5, Douglasville.
As they leave school on Fridays, qualified children will pick up the backpacks, which are filled by A Gift of Love, St. Julian’s Episcopal Church and other organizations.
