Time to Turn the Nation's Capital PURPLE!

My Amazing Mother Mary W. Brown
My Amazing Mother Mary W. Brown (My Mother Mary W. Brown)

Once a year I clear my schedule, break out my walking shoes, and all of purple clothes that I have accumulated over the years and head to Washington, DC. I do not do it alone; I am with a few thousand of my passionate friends and we paint the Capitol Purple on behalf of those affected by Alzheimer's and other related dementia's. We take this time every year to meet with the legislators to bring to the forefront the issues and concerns of those who have been diagnosed and those caring for those with Alzheimer's. Each year we walk the halls and meet with those in power that need to hear our stories. As we speak to them, we realize that we do not just represent ourselves we talk to them about all of you that may be enduring the same challenges. This year our goal is get them to understand the value of passing the Credit for Caring ACT and the importance of Alzheimer's research. The reason I advocate is to honor the memory of my mother, Mary W. Brown. I had the privilege of caring for her prior to her passing away from Alzheimer's in 2019. I am looking forward to meeting with Congresswoman, Lucy McBath to share my story. Hopefully our efforts in DC can get us closer to finding a cure!
