Here are the top five stories today in Douglasville:
- Douglasville is now the site of an 181,477-square-foot distribution facility for Home Chef. The facility will be used for the production, storage, and distribution of Home Chef meal kits. The facility includes nearly 20,000 square feet of freezer space, an additional 18,000 square feet of cooler space, 20 cold docks, and a 10,000 square-foot kitchen. (REBusinessOnline)
- The Douglasville Police Department will be hosting a Community Enrichment Meeting next week. This event is scheduled for Thursday, Sep. at 7:00 p.m. Attendees will hear about topics that are important to the Douglasville community. (Douglasville Police Department via Facebook)
- In case you missed it, Douglasville Fashion Week is set to kick off on Friday, Sep. 15 with a Mixer at Main Street from 7:00-9:00 p.m. On Saturday, Sep. 16, you can browse the pop-up shops at O'Neal Plaza from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The main fashion show will be on Sunday, Sep. 17 at the Douglasville Conference Center from 12:00-4:00 p.m. The events will continue into next week with Food Truck Mondays and Training Tuesdays. - The Night of the Blue Lights Car Show is coming up on Saturday, Sep. 16 at the Douglas County Courthouse. This event is organized by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and there is still time to register vehicles to be included in the show. Proceeds from this event will support the Boys and Girls Club of Douglas County. This event is being sponsored by several local businesses that have donated a variety of raffle prizes, including gift cards, free rounds of golf at local courses, and more. - If you're looking for fun activities this weekend, Douglasville Calendar has rounded up some great events happening in and around town. On Saturday, Sep. 9, Beyond the Front Porch is hosting an educational field trip to Zoo Atlanta.
