Duluth’s First Oktoberfest Brings Axe Throwing, Local Brews, More

Duluth's Oktoberfest will include live music, costume contests and more.

DULUTH — Duluth’s new Oktoberfest kicks off Saturday with music, food and activities for the whole family. The free event will take place downtown from noon to 5 p.m., the city announced Tuesday in a news release.

Free activities include themed photo-ops, a costume contest and axe throwing. Live bands will perform at noon and 3 p.m. on the main stage. DJ Pippe will provide music throughout the day.
Local breweries will feature select brews including Blackbird Farms, Gate City, Good Word Brewing and more. Food vendors will include Love at Wurst Sight, Gaston Street Eats, Dot Bowl, Repicci’s Italian Ice, The Red Popcorn Wagon and Phoenix Roasters.

“We are very excited to introduce this first year event to our community and we cannot wait to see all of the Oktoberfest costumes” said events coordinator Jessica Gross in a statement.
