2 In Attempted Car Theft Shoot At Owner In Dunwoody, Police Say

When the car's owner went to see what was happening, police say one of the two suspects shot five times at the Dunwoody owner.

DUNWOODY, GA — A man was injured after police say two other men attempting to steal his vehicle shot at him five times Tuesday in the 1300 block of Lake Ridge Lane.

The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. at an apartment, Dunwoody Police said Thursday. The man was awakened to his car lights flashing through his apartment window, police said.

When he walked outside to see what was happening, police said he saw one man inside his car and another standing outside. The man outside the car then shot five times at the resident, police said.

The resident was not directly shot but rather received non-life-threatening injuries when one of the bullets caused debris from the door and window to hit his chest, police said.

The other bullets hit the apartment building and other vehicles, police said.

The man who was injured was not taken to the hospital, police said.

Police did not identify suspects or say if anyone has been arrested in connection with this case.
