4 Dunwoody Businesses Cited For Selling Alcohol To Minors: Police
The investigation was part of an undercover operation, and the four businesses face administrative sanctions from the DOR.
DUNWOODY, GA — Four businesses were recently cited for selling alcohol to minors during an undercover operation, Dunwoody Police said Tuesday.
Police partnered with the Department of Revenue for the March 13 operation, which police said aimed to minimize underage drinking.
Seventeen businesses total were investigated, but authorities said 13 of them refused to sell alcohol to minors.

"The Dunwoody Police Department would like to commend each of these businesses for working to protect our community and keep our youth safe and sober," police said in a news release.
Police said the four businesses who sold alcohol to minors were BP (4368 N. Peachtree Road), Walmart (4725 Ashford Dunwoody Road), Perimeter Bottle Shop (4719 Ashford Dunwoody Road) and Total Wine (124 Perimeter Center West).

These businesses were cited and released by officers and face administrative sanctions from the DOR, police said.
"According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, excessive drinking contributes to more than 4,300 deaths among people below the age of 21 in the United States each year. The Dunwoody Police Department regularly uses alcohol sales compliance checks as a tool in our efforts to reduce underage drinking and the many issues that stem from it," police said in the release.
