At Least 4 Injured When Apartment Building Explodes In Dunwoody
Firefighters helped get people out of the rubble at the Arrive Perimeter apartment complex as rescue efforts continue.

DUNWOODY, GA — Multiple people were rushed to the hospital with burn injuries Sunday afternoon after an explosion at an apartment building in Dunwoody.
Police said they encountered heavy gas fumes after they responded to the Arrive Perimeter apartments explosion scene in DeKalb County around 1:24 p.m., according to WSBT. They were able to evacuate a few residents before the building blew up.
At least two people were hospitalized with burn injuries, and another two unaccounted for, WSBT later reported around 4 p.m. Hours later, that number had doubled to four.

No one did in the explosion.
"It fairly well blew the building to pieces," a Dunwoody police officer earlier told WSBT.

Police have asked anyone in the area who live at the Arrive Perimeter complex not impacted by the explosion to remain in their homes.
"The entrances/exits are closed off as the Fire Department works," Dunwoody police said in a tweet. "Please be patient and understand there is a huge incident scene ongoing right now."
Two people who were considered unaccounted for earlier in the afternoon were later determined to not be at home when the building exploded, according to reports from media at the scene.
Several people witnessed the explosion, which video shows left debris across the area.
“The leasing office was collapsed on the left side, the double doors were blown out and I could hear a lady screaming her head off,” Eboni Thornton, who was in a moving truck outside the building when it exploded, told the news station, adding that a few people were limping and bleeding when they were carried out of the rubble.
