Woman Killed In I-285 W Wrong-Way Crash In Dunwoody ID'd

The Cumming woman was trapped inside of a car after two vehicles hit each other head-on at Interstate 285 west in Dunwoody.

DUNWOODY, GA — The 33-year-old woman who was killed in a wrong-way crash that injured two people earlier this week on Interstate 285 west was identified Thursday.

The fatal crash happened around 3:45 a.m. Sunday near Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Dunwoody Police said Gleymar Vidal-Montes, of Cumming, was killed after a white Scion that was heading west on I-285, and was changing lanes, crashed head-on with a red F-250 that was simultaneously entering I-285 from Ashford Dunwoody.

The two vehicles crashed at the bottom of the entrance ramp, trapping the driver and Vidal-Montes, police said.

DeKalb County fire personnel extricated them; however, Vidal-Montes died at the scene, police said. She was a passenger in the Scion, police said.

The driver of the Scion was taken to North Fulton Hospital in stable condition, police said. The driver of the F-250 suffered injuries that were not life threatening and was not taken to the hospital, police said.

It is unknown if any charges have been filed in the case.
